7. Ryan Suter

College: University of Wisconsin

Suter’s NCAA career was short-lived at best.  He spent a mere year in Madison, Wisconsin before being drafted by the Nashville Predators in2003.  Within a year, he was playing for Nashville’s AHL affiliate: the Milwaukee Admirals.  Since then, he has signed with the Minnesota Wild on a lucrative 13-year, $68 million contract.  He’s a one time All Star as well as a first teamer in that same competition, has won a Silver Medal with the US Hockey Team in Vancouver, and won the Bobby Orr award in 2013.  Since 2007, he has averaged 30-plus points a year, and has tallied no less than 33 assists in 5 of his 8 NHL seasons.
