The Providence Bruins pulled through their first round match after falling behind 2-1 in the series. They managed to upset the number 2 ranked team in an ugly 6-3 game 5. Rookie Set Griffith has led the way with 6 points for the Bruins.

Peter Mannino out duelled his opponent helping to propel the Penguins onto round 2 in 4 games. It was a very close series as 3 of the 4 games needed overtime to decide the winner between the Scranton Penguins and Binghamton Senators in round one. The series could have gone either way and the Penguins will need more strong goaltending going forward.

Both of these teams seemed to be the underdogs in their round one matches and both managed to over come the odds and make it to round 2. The Bruins know how to score so unless the Penguins can utilize scoring, this series could be over quickly.
