Connor McDavid Sweepstakes Who Has the Best Chance?
Calgary Flames
The Calgary Flames may be the worst team in the West by a long-shot next season. They don’t have the goaltending, the offence or the defence capable of battling in the dog eat dog Western Conference, which puts them in the best spot to land McDavid. They do have some solid young talent, but that young talent is neither ready nor surrounded by the right teammates to excel in the NHL as of yet.

They lost leading goal scorer Mike Cammalleri, added inconsistent goaltender Jonas Hiller and are expecting the young Sean Monahan to lead the team in scoring. Yup, times sound bleak in Calgary. The Flames may just be this seasons Buffalo Sabres, looking like an AHL team trying hard to battle every night. At the end of what is likely to be a long and painful season, the Flames should almost be given a free shot to land Connor McDavid, they’d probably miss anyways.
