Nicolas Petan- Portland Winterhawks

It’s not easy to finish 2nd in WHL scoring while playing in almost 10 fewer games than the guy ahead of you, but Nicolas Petan managed to get the job done. In 63 games he recorded 113 points for the Winterhawks in his fourth season with the team.

The only thing left for Petan is to up his size and bulk up, once he does that he should have no issue cracking the Winnipeg Jets roster. He was taken by the Jets in the 2nd round of the 2013 draft and might be ready to step into the AHL next season.

With his excellent skill and elite offence, he’s a valuable player for any team despite his size and that might be something the Jets are willing to overlook going forward. He is very confident in his abilities and his game and appears to slow down the game at times, once the puck is on his stick it appears to stay there.
