Without his sidekick Nathan MacKinnon, Jonathan Drouin has proved that he’s just fine by himself. He racked up 108 points (3 more than alongside MacKinnon) with 29 goals. In the playoffs Drouin has also been hot recording 37 points in 13 games. Drouin has more that proved himself this year after an impressive draft year last year both in the QMJHL and with Team Canada at the World Juniors. All signs point to him joining the Tampa Bay Lightning next season and now that Martin St. Louis is gone, Drouin could end up being Steven Stamkos‘ go to winger. Not bad for the rookie. Much like St. Louis, Drouin at 5 foot 11 is a shorter forward, but what he lacks in size he more than makes up for in skill and speed.

He’s a solid two way player who isn’t afraid to lead the power play and battle hard on the penalty kill. Drouin is an exciting playmaker and that could be just what the Lightning and Stamkos need going forward.
