While the Barons are coming in as the 8th seed from the Western conference, they have lots of NHL talent who can easily make a difference in this series. Anton Lander, Will Acton, Tyler Pitlick, Steve Pinizzotto and Oscar Kelfbom were all cent down to the Barons from the Oilers prior to the playoffs. The Barons underwent 152 roster transitions and had only 5 players play at least 60 games with the squad this season. In simple terms there has been a revolving door for Barons and not even they know how to play as a unit yet. These playoffs will be a time for the Barons to experience a full roster with the majority of their regular players. They might be an 8th seed. but they’re an 8th seed with untapped potential.

On the other hand the Texas Stars are the Western Conference’s best team and have the AHL MVP Travis Morin on their roster. The Stars lost their final regular season game, however they finished the year on a 12-1-1 run. However the Stars will be without two of their best players in Colton Seviour and Chris Mueller who are with the Dallas Stars. In addition to his MVP winning season, Morin also led the entire AHL in scoring. The Stars may have one of the best teams in the AHL and will be a tough match for the Barons.
