Eric Stephens of the Orange County Register reported Thursday night Anaheim Ducks forward Max Friberg signed a two-year extension with the team.
Friberg is a former 5th round selection of the 2011 NHL Draft. Per team policy, details were not disclosed.
Friberg is a bit of an underrated two-way winger. He has proven he has developed offensively with two 40 point seasons with the Norfolk Admrials. Friberg also has improved physically which has improved his defensive game.
Friberg will probably start the year with Norfolk again this year; however, Friberg could see his NHL debut at some point during the 2015-2016 season.
Friberg had the advantage of starting in Sweden during his development. There he played against grown men in their 20s and 30s. which helped him mesh into the AHL style of play easily.
