Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reported Friday evening that the Anaheim Ducks have signed prospect Marcus Pettersson to an entry-level contract.

Pettersson is one of Anaheim’s taller prospects, listed at 6’4″; in fact, he is the tallest. Pettersson is could be capable of playing in the NHL with his length, but he has been playing in Sweden all of his life so he will need time to adjust to the North American ice, as well as bulk up a bit.

Pettersson offers strong play offensively. He has tape to tape passing and quality decision-making skills. His time in the AHL should be devoted to working on his defensive game and developing a better shot.

Future Considerations offers this profile of Pettersson on their site:

"“[Pettersson] is a tall and lanky two-way defender who plays with good mobility, strong positioning and impressive passing ability as well as the ability to make quick decisions. He needs to use his size better as there is not much physicality in his game.”"
