NHL First Round Mock Draft (Picks 1-5)

As June comes closer and closer, here is a look at who could be selected in the first round of the NHL Draft. This does not include potential trades that could involve first round picks, but trades that have already be made will be included.
148. This future 1st overall pick just recently made his way to the OHL Championship and the Memorial Cup. McDavid’s many skills are at a professional level and are even better than some NHL players in the league right now. Has tremendous speed and power in his stride and shot. 2. player. 12. In any other draft Jack Eichel would be 1st overall. He is a generational player just like McDavid and will be a great player for the Sabres. Can play on any side of the puck on special teams, and is very good on the draw as well.. C. Boston University. Jack Eichel
121. The Arizona Coyotes were put in a tough spot when the Oilers won the draft lottery. Instead of knowing who they will be walking away with, with the 2nd overall pick, they now must make a decision with the 3rd overall selection. Some may think that due to the Coyotes connections with the London Knights (Max Domi, Christian Dvorak) Mitch Marner could be taken 3rd. Offensive is not a need for the team prospect wise and after Brandon Gormley the ‘Yotes do not have a whole lot on the back-end. Hanifin will provide strength and intelligence to the blue line.. LHD. The Maple Leafs will be getting a smart, skillful centerman in Dylan Strome. Dylan played with Connor McDavid on a talented Erie Otters roster He did, however, put up points with McDavid out of the lineup due to his wrist injury, so don’t be afraid of Strome without McDavid <a title=. 109. The Carolina Hurricanes could have a great player in Mitch Marner if this mock draft comes true. Marner may not have the best size for a NHL player, but his quickness and hands are among the best in the draft. He will need to build his body a bit more being 5’10” and 164 lbs. He has great positioning which works in favor of his small stature. Marner is almost always in the right spot when catching passes or finding an opening to score. Marner was in contention for the OHL scoring title until Dylan Strome’s incredible final game. This pick will also fill a need that the Hurricanes lack up the middle.. C. London Knights.
