Ryan MacInnis Signs ELC With Coyotes
By Max Marko
The Arizona Coyotes signed former 2nd round draft selection Ryan MacInnis to an entry-level contract Friday, the team announced. MacInnis was taken with the 43rd overall pick in 2014 and has spent the past 2 season in the OHL with the Kitchener Rangers.
Ryan, son of former NHLer Al, is a bit of an overlooked prospect and will most likely sit behind Max Domi, Laurent Dauphin, and Henrik Samuelsson in the “prospect depth chart”. The organization does have high hopes for him, however. General Manager, Don Maloney commented on the signing stating,
"“Ryan is a big, talented two-way centerman with good hands and playmaking ability. We were impressed with his progress this season and look forward to watching him continue to develop.”"
MacInnis will report to the Portland Pirates, the Coyotes AHL affiliate, so he doesn’t burn a year of this new contract. His season with the Kitchener Rangers ended earlier this week after they were eliminated from the OHL playoffs by the London Knights.
