Taylor Rocca, who covers Reinhart’s WHL squad the Kootenay Ice, also reported that the centerman had been re-assigned to AHL club.
Reinhart signed a entry level contract in the summer he was drafted, so he will not be joining the Sabres until next season, unless they want to burn off a year of his contract. Reinhart will could join the Americans in Cleveland where the team takes on the Lake Erie Monsters April 9th, or he could come directly to Rochester and wait until April 10th when the Americans play the Toronto Marlies.

Sam Reinhart played the first 9 games of the season this year before he was sent back to the WHL. He collected 1 assist in his time and showed many times we wasn’t physically ready for NHL play. However, he did play with promise and still impressed a lot of people.
He plays a strong game in both zones. When he was with the Ice he was almost too good. He scored 65 points in 47 games and finished 3rd on the team in scoring even though he played almost 25 games less than the rest of the team.
Reinhart will try to bring his A game to an Americans team that is riddled with injuries. He will most likely play inside the top 6 with mainly ECHL players or others on amateur tryouts. He may not be able to work with much, but Reinhart will be able to showcase his “do it yourself” play-making ability.
