Central Scouting Services released their final rankings of the year for prospects entering the NHL Draft on Wednesday. The rankings are made up of North American skaters and goalies, and European skaters and goalies.

Central Scouting’s Midterm Rankings: here

All year we have seen Connor McDavid and Jack Eichel at the top of everybody’s mock drafts and rankings and to no one surprise we see the two in the same spot we will for the rest of mankind. McDavid takes up the 1st N.A slot, and Eichel the 2nd.

However, that’s not what this is about. These rankings provide talking points and give an idea as to what some of the best scouts are thinking about the upcoming draftees. Some of their decisions are agreed with an a broad span and others are widely criticized.

My opinions on the midterm rankings

Final Draft Rankings: here

Not only do the top 2 prospects remain the same in this draft ranking but Boston College defenseman Noah Hanifin also continues to hold the #3 spot. Hanifin has had a great year for the Eagles with 5 goals and 18 assists in 37 games. He has been consistent in his own end and has shown he can play at a high level.

There are many players that have slid or risen up these rankings since the midterm rankings in January. There has been a three way battle between Lawson Crouse, Dylan Strome and Mitch Marner all year. As stated before this list can start many arguments as to who the best players are in this Draft, and who will be taken where come June.

Look out for my opinions on Central Scouting Service’s final draft rankings this year tomorrow.
