VIDEO: Avs’ Pickard Robs Fiala

Calvin Pickard of the Lake Erie Monsters, the Colorado Avalanche AHL affiliate, made an unbelievable diving stop on Milwaukee Admirals’ Kevin Fiala Wednesday evening.

Pickard has come up to the NHL team in the past this season, and has given promising results. This save exemplifies Pickard’s and reaction timing.

The Monsters would lose this game in overtime, however. It was none other than the man Pickard robbed on that diving save, Kevin Fiala, who would beat that same goaltender to win the game for the Admirals.

Calvin Pickard was still very strong in net stopping 27 of 30 shots in the OT loss. The Monsters are fighting for their playoff lives, sitting 4 points back of the last spot in the West.
