ECHL Stingrays Add Goaltender, Then Start Him

The South Carolina Stingrays of the East Coast Hockey league have announced that the team has added goaltender Keegan Asmundson to the roster, and reports say that he’s going to make his professional tonight in Indianapolis against the Indy Fuel.

The Stingrays are currently on a league best 23 game winning streak, and they are going to start a goaltender from Canisius College Golden Griffins who went 13-8-4 with one shutout, a 1.96 goals against, .930 save percentage, in 26 games played.

Asmundson, a 24 year-old Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota native has some really decent stats moving forward. This past season he set school record in goals against average (1.96), and save percentage (.930), and continued to add to his career school record in both of these categories. In 45 career games for the Griffins, he has an 18-15-6, and a career 2.08 goals against, and .930 save percentage.
