Raise your hand if you’re outside of the New Jersey Devils organization and had heard much about Damon Severson before this season? Good, now put your hand down because you’re lying. It wasn’t until I did some research on the rookies looking good early this season when I stumbled upon Severson. In fact, Severson is looking so good, that he’s bumped Adam Henrique down the depth charts in New Jersey.

Instead of starting the year in the AHL for his first career pro season, he went straight to the NHL and has 5 points in 6 games with the Devils. The rookie is also averaging 20 minutes a night in ice-time.
