With all the prospects in the Buffalo Sabres system and the likelihood that they will obtain a top draft pick in this years extremely deep draft, the future is certainly bright in Buffalo. However, one prospect who isn’t getting quite the same hype is Joel Armia. Armia took that matter into his own hands with this incredible shootout goal the other night.

What an incredible goal by the Sabres prospect who already had a goal and assist on the night in a 6-1 game. He got the opportunity for a penalty shot and boy did he step up to the plate; Talk about a toe drag!

Armia is a first round draft pick of the Sabres from 2012 and is playing his second year in North America as he still has some work to do getting used to the North American game. But if this insane deke which left the goaltender helpless is any hint, Armia might not be that far off from some NHL play.

Last season with the Amerks Armia scored 7 goals and added 20 assists in 57 games and is looking to improve on those totals this year. The Buffalo Sabres have a stocked shelf of prospect talent and it’s only going to get deeper, now is the time for Armia to prove he can play with the best.

In the Amerks season debut, where he scored this filthy goal, he also racked up 17 minutes in penalties thanks in large part to a line brawl at the end of the game. Look like Armia is trying hard to get the Sabres attention, if he keeps scoring filthy, insane, Datsyuk like goals, that shouldn’t be an issue.
