NHL Draft: 5 Draftees That Could Step Into the NHL Next Season

Last season in the OHL with the Barrie Colts, Ekblad was a man against boys. His large frame and hockey IQ set him apart in every aspect. The reason the Panthers kept their pick at the draft was the expectation that Ekblad would be joining their squad next season. Physically Ekblad is ready for the NHL, his skills are virtually ready, the only thing left is his maturity.

He looked awful good this season and with a little time in training camp and preseason, he should be able to make the adjustments he needs to play in the NHL next season.
