For Kerby Rychel and the rest of the Guelph Storm there is only one word to sum up their Memorial Cup; disappointing. They came into the tournament and blew the doors off their competition and were the favourites heading into the championships game, only to be blown out by the Oil Kings. Despite having a solid tournament recording 7 points in 4 games, Rychel was sent to Guelph to do one thing and one thing only; win the Memorial Cup. He fell just short and his junior career is over.

While they may have lost, it’s not all doom and gloom for Kerby Rychel who boasted a very solid Memorial Cup for the Storm. He recorded at least 2 points in 3 of his 4 games and was named to the tournaments all star team. It might have ended in disappointment, however, Rychel has nothing to be disappointed about.
