The Wild drafted the defenceman 7th overall in the 2012 draft and are very excited to get their hands on him. He played in 13 games for the Wild during this season but mainly played in the WHL with his Portland Winterhawks. In 26 regular season games with the Winterhawks, Dumba recorded 24 points and added 18 points in 21 post season games.

Despite the fact Dumba is a defenceman, his actual game on defence isn’t his strong suit. His electrifying style of offence and laying the big hit is what brings fans to their feet and teammates to his side. He doesn’t shy away from taking the body or jumping up in the offence and that has the Wild excited. Dumba would certainly benefit from some AHL time next season before making the jump to the NHL and playing a P.K Subban type of hockey.
