Defence Dysin Mayo- Edmonton Oil Kings
If you want a reliable defenceman who can put up points but won’t make very many high light reels then defenceman Dysin Mayo is your guy. His offence took a drastic leap this season with the Oil Kings where he recored 35 regular season points. He is key on the power-play and uses his speed to help lead an offencive rush.
Mayo has shown problems in big pressure games and will need a strong show at the 2014 Memorial Cup to change a scouts mind about his potential and his ceiling. Can he be a top pairing defenceman or is he better off being the 5th defenceman on a contending team? He has a few more seasons to develop and mature in the juniors before a team needs to tender him a contract, if he can put those years to good use he should have no problem adjusting to the NHL.
