Ryan Sproul was taken by the Red Wings in the 2nd round of the 2011 draft and may be ready to step up to the plate and join the Red Wings blue line next season. The defenceman recorded 32 points in 72 with the Griffins and made his NHL debut this season. He also has 5 points in 5 playoff games for the Griffins right now as they look to defend their AHL title.
Sproul has showed immense improvement since being drafted. When he was drafted he was noticed for his offencive abilities. Now he’s much more mature, skates well and can quarterback a power play. A strong playoff appearance for Ryan Sproul could earn him a solid tryout with the Red Wings.
