Perhaps the closest NHL ready prospect in the Flyers system is centre Scott Laughton of the OHL’s Oshawa Generals. He’s already seen time in both the AHL and the NHL and finished up a very dominate senior OHL season. In 54 regular season games with the Generals, Laughton recorded 87 points and added 11 more in 9 post season games. For his efforts this season Laughton was the runner-up for the Red Tilson trophy as the OHL’s most outstanding player.
Scott Laughton is a very strong two-way centre and at 6 foot 1, 190 pounds, has the body set for NHL play. He was drafted by the Flyers in the first round of the 2012 NHL draft. Expect Laughton to challenge for a roster spot with the Flyers next season.
