2014 NHL First Round Mock Draft Take 1
22. Roland McKeown- Tampa Bay Lightning
The Lightning don’t need much more top notch talent up front, but they could use help on the blue line, which is why Roland McKeown is their man. He’s got a solid two-way game, however could take a few season’s to truly develop into their go to defenceman.
23. Nick Schmaltz- Chicago Blackhawks
Nick Shmaltz has already committed to go play NCAA hockey and that’s just fine for the Blackhawks. He’s extremely skilled and if it wasn’t for his NCAA commitment might be going higher in the draft. The Blackhawks have a dynasty and can afford to wait for a guy like Schmaltz
24. Nikolay Goldobin- Pittsburgh Penguins
Goldobin will be a slight project for the Penguins should they take him with their first pick in 2014. He’s got all the skill and is fun to watch but needs to round his game to become more complete.
