Tampa Bay Lightning: Top 3 Prospects
Jonathan Drouin – Halifax Mooseheads – QMJHL
The loss of St. Louis was a little easier for the Lightning to swallow knowing that Jonathan Drouin was awaiting in the wings. Drouin can and likely will become the new trigger man for Stamkos feeding him the puck for those amazing one-timers. This year with the Halifax Mooseheads, Drouin proved he’s just as skilled with NHL sensation Nathan MacKinnon by his side. He recorded 108 points in 46 regular season games, which is more than he did alongside the aforementioned MacKinnon. To top it off he recorded 41 points in just 16 post season game with the Mossehead. He wont have a chance to battle for the QMJHL cup again, however he’s shown that there is nothing left in junior for himself.
Expect the skilled and speedy Drouin to make the jump to the NHL next season and play for the Lightning. He might not have the same impact MacKinnon does, but Drouin will certainly make an impact next season.
