Toronto Maple Leafs: Top 3 Propsects
– Toronto Marlies
Next we have the Toronto Maple Leafs 3rd round pick from the 2011 draft, Josh Leivo who is playing big for the Marlies. In 59 games with the Marlies, the left winger recorded 42 points and earned himself a 7 game stint with the Leafs. After a very successful rookie year with the Marlies, Leivo is proving that being taken in the third round is no setback to this power forwards game.
At 6 foot 2, Leivo has solid NHL size and a great ability of protecting the puck from the opposition. He is regarded as an extremely talented athlete and a versatile player who is willing to play any role to get a W for his team. He is currently playing with the Marlies throughout their playoff run. There is little doubt Leivo will be a bottom 9 forward in the NHL in the next couple of seasons.
