In the 7th spot we have our second goaltender on the list and another option the Lightning have in the minors. They have a stellar goaltender in Ben Bishop but their back-up slot is lacking as they found out this post season with Anders Lindback. Vasilevski’s contract is expiring so the Lightning will need to make their mind up on their 6 foot 4 KHL netminder in hurry. He was selected by the Lightning in the first round of the 2012 draft but has yet to come over to North America. Vasilevski has played in three World Juniors for Russia bringing home two bronze medals and a silver.

In 28 games with the KHL he recorded an impressive 2.21 Goals Against and .923 Save Percentage, there’s little doubt that Vasilevski can play as he is regarded as the 2nd or 3rd best goaltender outside of the NHL. He’s done very well on one of the KHL’s best teams and it will be interesting to see if the Lightning tender him a contract this offseason.
