Despite being projected a first round draft pick, the New Jersey Devils used their 2nd round pick in 2013 to snag defenceman Steve Santini. Santini just finished his freshman year with Boston which saw him head to the Frozen Four. He had 11 points in 35 games with the Eagles.

He was projected to be a top level defenceman and he helped his case with a silver medal at the 2013 World Juniors where he was named the best defenceman of the tournament. He’s a smart defenceman who likes to play lots of minutes, however he’ll need to hone his craft while at Boston College if he is to be the top defenceman he’s projected to be. He’s at least two years and likely even three away from joining the Devils or another NHL team.
