The Panthers have a few prospects stocked up in the college ranks who they won’t be seeing for a few more years and Rocco Grimaldi is probably one. He was taken by the Panthers in the second round of the 2011 draft and has played for North Dakota for the last two seasons after graduating from the USHL. Although a little short, Grimaldi is a solid forward with lots of upside for the Panthers.

In his second season with North Dakota he racked up 39 points in 42 games and helped led North Dakota to an impressive Frozen Four run which landed them inside the Final Four. During the Frozen Four he won the regional MVP award. Rocco Grimaldi also laced up for team USA in the 2013 World Championships and brought home the gold medal. He’s at least another year away from NHL action, but he’s a solid prospect for the Panthers.
