The Albany Devils owe a huge thank you to their NHL team the New Jersey Devils for sending Tim Sestito, Mike Sislo and defensemen Jon Merrill and Adam Larsson down to help their playoff run. The junior Devils were led on offence by Mike Sislo who recorded 23 goals in 58 games. Remarkably while their NHL team had trouble winning shootouts, the shootout is what helped the junior Devils shoot up the standings and clinch a playoff birth.

The St. Johns Ice Caps will face off against the Albany Devils for the first time in over a year when they square-off in the playoffs. This has been the best season in Ice Caps history after recording an impressive 99 points. The Ice Caps were led by Jerome Samson and Andrew Gordon on offence while their captain, Jason Jaffray, recorded 59 points. They got a solid year from Michael Hutchinson between the pipes. Entering into the playoffs the Ice Caps are riding a three-game win streak and are poised for an offencive series.
