The Brampton Battalion and Sudbury Wolves make up the fourth and final matchup of round one of the OHL Eastern Conference playoffs. The series between the teams begins on March 21.

SERIES D: BRAMPTON VS. SUDBURY

• Series begins Thursday, March 21, 7:00 p.m. in Brampton.

How the teams stack up:

Brampton (34-25-3-6, 77 points — 193 GF, 190 GA)

  • Top Scorer: Barclay Goodrow (RW) – 38G, 14A, 52 points
  • Goodrow also leads the team with 17 power play goals, four shorthanded tallies and 59 penalty minutes on the season.
  • Other players to watch include rookie Blake Clarke, who is tied for second on the team in points scoring with 51 points (19-32), matching Francis Menard’s totals.
  • Dylan Blujus leads Battalion defensemen with 29 points on the year.
  • Brampton ended the regular season on a four-game winning streak and scored a combined 18 goals in that stretch, including a trio of consecutive five-goal games. The regular season ended with a 5-2 win over Peterborough on March 17.

Sudbury (29-27-5-7, 70 points — 214 GF, 234 GA)

  • Top Scorer: Mathew Campagna (C), 24G, 44A, 68 points
  • Left winger Nathan Pancel led the team with 26 goals and was second in points with 56 on the season. Another player to watch is right winger Nicholas Baptiste, who had 48 points (21-27) in 66 games.
  • Rookie Dominik Kahun had 40 points (13-27) in 58 games this season.
  • Left winger Brody Silk was the only Wolves player to attain over 100 penalty minutes, with 102.
  • Sudbury dropped its last two games, a 5-2 loss to Belleville and a 3-2 loss to Oshawa.

The Season Series

The Battalion and Wolves faced each other eight times during the regular season. Brampton took five of the games, while Sudbury won three.

Sudbury won the first meeting of the season, a 4-1 win on September 23. Brampton won the next two, both 4-2 wins on November 4 and 14. Next up, it was Sudbury’s turn for a pair of wins – a 2-0 shutout victory on November 25 followed by a 4-3 win on January 4. Finally, Brampton took the final three meetings of the season: a 2-1 win on January 13, a 4-1 win on February 3 and lastly, a 2-1 victory on February 8.
