This Friday the Providence Bruins are hosting the Manchester Monarchs in hopes of gaining another 2 points in the standings, tying them for 4th place in the Atlantic Division if the Pirates lose Friday against the Senators.  The two meet for the fifth time this season with a series that is tied at 2 games a piece.

It was announced today that the Manchester Monarchs signed two-time All-Star defenseman Bryan Rodney to a one-year contract and he is expected to travel with the team.  Rodney has played in 67 AHL games last season and registered 6 goals and 24 assists for 30 points between the Oklahoma City Barons and Syracuse Crunch.

Providence is entering Friday’s game with Chris Bourque on a point streak and Jordan Caron looking to find his way scoring against Portland after a pointless November.  Defenseman Tommy Cross is also making himself known as he’s registered two assists in his first three games with the Bruins.

While there have only been five fights between these two teams so far this season, you can be on the lookout for Bobby Robins and Richard Clune to square off.  Both are leading their teams in fighting majors and are no strangers to each other after squaring off on October 19.

Face off is at 7:00pm and can be seen on AHL Live for a small fee.
