Sunday afternoon goaltenderChad Johnsonstarted the game against theManchester Monarchsonly to be pulled after the first twenty minutes of play. It seems as though he may have suffered a lower body injury, however the Pirates organization mentioned yesterday that the injury didn’t seem serious.Mike Leewas recalled from the ECHLGwinnett Gladiatorsfor precautionary purposes.
Lee has a 9-5-1 record in the 15 games he has played in for the Gladiators with a .926 save percentage and 1.87 goals against average. Twice already this season he was named as Reebok’s ECHL goaltender of the week.
Lee is a Fargo, North Dakota native who has played in 172 games so far in his career, including 5 with the USA World Junior Team in 2009-2010.
He will be joining the team on their road trip to Binghamton and looks to suit up for his first professional game Friday against the Senators.
