Czech Team Includes 12 CHL Reps

The Czech Republic also announced its preliminary roster for the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championships, which begin in just a few weeks in Ufa, Russia.

This year’s team features seven returning players from last year’s tournament: Musil, Hrbas, Faksa, Hyka, Sedlák, Hertl and Jaškin. The team also features 2012 first round draft choice of the Dallas Stars, Radek Faksa, and Martin Frk, who was drafted by the Detroit Red Wings.
At just sixteen years of age, Jakub Vrána is the youngest player on the Czech roster for the World Juniors tournament, which begins December 26 in Ufa, Russia.
The team’s roster includes 12 representatives from the Canadian Hockey League.
Patrik Bartošák of the Red Deer Rebels, David Musil of the Edmonton Oil Kings and Marek Hrbas of the Kamloops Blazers will represent the WHL on the Czech team.
For the Ontario Hockey League, goaltender Matej Machovský of the Brampton Battalion and Kitchener Rangers forward Radek Faksa have made the preliminary squad.
Finally, seven players from the QMJHL are on the roster. Petr Šidlík of Victoriaville, Tomáš Pavelka and Matěj Beran of P.E.I., Dmirij Jaškin of Moncton, Martin Frk of Halifax, Tomáš Hyka of Gatineau and Lukáš Sedlák of Chicoutimi are on the preliminary roster for Czech.
