Twenty-year-old Matt Galati, a forward for the OJHL’s Pickering Panthers, has been honored by Gongshow Gear as their North-East Conference Player of the Month for September 2012.

Galati scored nine goals and six assists in nine games during the month, and now sits sixth among scoring leaders league-wide. In addition, he also leads the league with five power-play goals.

Galati’s success comes upon his return to the Panthers after spending a portion of last season with Toronto. He had six goals and 17 assists in 27 games with the Jr. Canadiens last year, and also scored 15 points (6-9) in 22 games with Pickering prior to that.

The Toronto native also got a bit of a family reunion upon returning to Pickering – his older brother Mike currently acts as head coach and general manager of the club.
