Condors Offer Bieber Contract

Here’s a sentence I never thought I would write: Justin Bieber – yes, THAT one – has been offered an ECHL contract to play hockey with the Bakersfield Condors. And no, I’m not kidding.
The 18-year-old Stratford native was offered an amateur tryout contract last week by the Condors.
He is described as having “soft hands, a good skating stride, and a devastating wrist shot capable of beating NHL caliber goaltenders,” and Condors head coach Matt O’Dette said he has seen video of Bieber’s hockey skills.
The pop star grew up as a fan of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs – so it’s not like hockey is anything new to him.
His upcoming tour will take him to several arenas, including Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center. He’ll also stop in Fresno, which is in close proximity to Bakersfield, in October.
