Otters Sign Dansk
The Erie Otters announced yesterday that they have signed goaltender Oscar Dansk to an OHL contract. Dansk will be the first Swedish player to suit up for the Otters in the team’s history.
Dansk was selected in this year’s 2012 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the second round, 31st overall.
He spent last season with Brynas Jr. (Sweden) and ended up with a 2.82 GAA and .910 save percentage in 28 games. Ranked second in European goaltenders prior to the draft, he ended up being the third goaltender to go, behind Tampa Bay’s Vasilevski and Boston’s Subban.
Dansk joins the Otters as their second goaltender, along with 16-year-old Michigan native Devin Williams, who played nine games with Erie last year.
The contract is expected to be finalized in the next few days, as the Otters open their training camp in preparation for the upcoming season.
