AHL Releases Schedule

Despite the impending possibility of a National Hockey League lockout, the AHL is pushing forward – releasing its schedule for the 2012-13 season this past week.

The season kicks off on Friday, October 12 and will see 1,140 games played until April 21.

Highlights of the season include two affiliation changes, as Norfolk is now connected to the NHL’s Anaheim Ducks. The Syracuse Crunch will now be affiliated with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Six NHL arenas will host AHL action this year as well, with games being played in Toronto, Montreal, St. Paul, Washington, Raleigh and Philadelphia.

The AHL All-Star Classic will be hosted by the Providence Bruins on January 27th and 28th.
