WHL to Host Major Bantam Camp
The top 102 Major Bantam players in Alberta will attend a WHL Prospects Camp later this summer, according to a league press release announcement made Friday.
The camp will be held at Father David Bauer Arena in Calgary and will feature 102 players, all born in 1998, selected by Hockey Canada and WHL clubs.
The players have participated in Team Alberta U-15 Skills Camps in the past, which also led to their selection.
The camp, which is by invitation only, will be the first in the Bantam age category hosted by the WHL in Canada. Scrimmages, on- and off-ice combine testing and off-ice seminars will focus on player development and education.
Players attending the camp are eligible for the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft.
The camp is being presented by Reebook CCM, a company which has also hosted similar camps for Pee-Wee players as well as U.S. prospects.
