Rocco Grimaldi Out 6-8 Weeks

Rocco Grimaldi figured to be one of the better forwards for North Dakota this year, but he struggled with knee problems throughout the semester and now comes the news that he is being completely shut down and is out for the next six to eight weeks.

Grimaldi just scored his first goal of his college career two weeks ago against Minnesota and has one assist as well in his four games played. From a North Dakota perspective the Sioux are in dire need of goals from anywhere as they’re currently the 10th ranked offense in the WCHA (although given how they’ve been outshooting opponents for the most part I think the goals will come).

And from a national standpoint Grimaldi will miss the World Junior Championships next month, which opens up a spot for another forward. Perhaps Brian Ferlin?
