Per a statement made by Michigan coach Red Berenson, via Stephen Nesbitt of the Michigan Daily, suspended Michigan defenseman Jon Merrill has been cleared to practice. He hasn’t yet been cleared to play, however, and is “indefinitely suspended” from game action.
We’re under two months from this years World Juniors, and the decision to include a suspended Merrill on the US team would be a big one for Dean Blais. Hopefully he sees some game action before then so that isn’t an issue, but even getting to practice will allow him to get more up to speed in an effort to make the team.
