Northeastern head coach Greg Cronin will leave the school to take an assistant coaching position with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In 6 seasons at Northeastern he had a record of 87-103-29. The Huskies made just 1 NCAA tournament appearance and 2 Beanpot finals in his time with the school. They finished in 2nd place, 1 point out of 1st, in the 2008-09 season before losing to Cornell in the 1st round of the NCAA tournament.

This past season Northeastern finished in 6th, but were expected to be challengers for an NCAA spot next year. Cronin had some high profile recruits coming in next year to join Jamie Oleksiak, a likely first round pick this week, but he was disciplined earlier in the year for improper recruiting.
