North Dakota defenseman Ben Blood will be returning to school for his senior year, according to GF Herald writer Brad Schlossman. Blood had 2 goals and 12 points last year, but established himself as one of the best defensive defensemen in the country, leading the country in +/-. He also was a big cog in a defense which allowed the 2nd fewest shots per game in the country.

With Chay Genoway, Jake Marto and Derrick LaPoint all graduating, Blood’s return is key for the Sioux defense, who still have him, Andrew MacWilliam, Derek Forbort and Dillon Simpson to work with. Blood’s rights are owned by Ottawa.
