Ferris State 3, Western Michigan 1: Pat Nagle made 31 saves as Ferris State upset Western to win the first game of their playoff series. Travis Ouellette had two goals, including the game winner.

Miami 4, Alaska 1: Reilly Smith had a goal and an assist and Andy Miele had a goal as Miami also took a 1-o lead in their series. Cody Reichard made 17 saves.

St. Lawrence 4, Yale 3: It is looking like deja vu for Yale, who are in danger of being eliminated in the quarters for the second straight year. My ECAC Freshman of the year Greg Carey  had the game tying goal and the OT winner. Broc Little had three assists for Yale.

Boston College 4, UMass 1: Cam Atkinson had his 28th goal of the year and John Muse had 26 saves for the Eagles, who are a win away from the Hockey East semis.

North Dakota 8, Michigan Tech 0: Matt Frattin had a hat trick, and now has 32 goals on the year, and Jason Gregoire put in a three spot as well, upping his total to 24 on the year. The Sioux defense held Michigan Tech to just 16 shots, and 5 in the final two periods.

Alaska-Anchorage 4, Minnesota 3: Jake Hansen had a penalty shot goal, but it wasn’t enough as Mitch Brujsten scored midway through the third to give the Seawolves the upset.

Bemidji State 4, Nebraska-Omaha 2: The Beavers just have Omaha’s number, as they stay undefeated vs. their fellow 1st year WCHA school. John Faulkner had a rough night, allowing 4 goals on just 17 shots, and sure didn’t look like an all league goalie. Dan Bakala made 46 saves. Jordan George and Matt Read both scored in the win.
