On this day 31 years ago some plucky youngsters from the United States defeated the Soviet Union, probably the best international hockey team of all time. It’s probably a bit cheesy how much I love the Miracle on Ice and everything it stood for not just in a hockey sense but in the sense that it made Americans feel better about America.
