Not too many marquee matchups last night. I think the NCAA knew I would be studying for finals so they gave me a lighter load of games to recap. Thanks, fellas.

Ohio State 3, Michigan 2: Michigan missed an empty net by inches while leading 2-1 late in the third. It would come back to haunt them as the Buckeyes scored with just seconds left and then won it in OT. Jon Merrill had a goal and an assist for Michigan and Cal Heeter had 26 saves for OSU.

Union 4, Brown 3: The Dutch outshot Brown 32-18, but Keith Kincaid really struggled in net, only making 15 saves. Still, Union managed a win on Shawn Stuart’s first goal of the season. Jack Maclellan had 2 goals for Brown.

St. Lawrence 6, Quinnipiac 4: With all of the goals, the star of the game might have been Saints goalie Robbie Moss, who made 38 saves in the win. Greg Carey had 2 goals, including the game winner, for St. Lawrence, who moved into 7th in ECAC Hockey.

Yale 4, RPI 2: Another game, another goal for Broc Little, who netted his 9th of the year. The other offensive dynamo, Denny Kearney, had an assist in the win. Ryan Rondeau struggled a bit in net, making only 15 saves for Yale.

Boston College 9, BU 5: I don’t even know where to start. This game had everything. Just look at the boxscore. One complaint though: there were 29 penalties called. Let the kids play hockey.

Bemidji State 3, Nebraska-Omaha 0: In the upset of the night Dan Bakala made 25 saves as Bemidji moved into a tie for 10th in the WCHA. The Beavers got goals from Jake Arashenko, Ian Lowe and Emil Billberg.

Denver 5, Minnesota-Duluth 4: Duluth finally lost an overtime game as Drew Shore potted his 13th of the year to give Denver a big win. Jason Zucker had his 10th and 11th in the win. The only bad part of the game was Beau Bennett, the 2010 1st round pick of the Penguins, hurt his leg in the win.

North Dakota 3, St. Cloud State 1: Another game, another goal for Matt Frattin, who now has 14 on the year. He also assisted on one of Brad Malone’s two goals. Aaron Dell made 21 saves in the win as the Sioux are now just a point out of first in the WCHA.
