Good Weekend, Bad Weekend

Good Weekend:
Denver: The Pioneers have now won six games in a row and have a showdown with Minnesota-Duluth coming up. They have scored at least 3 goals in each of their 6 wins, and 6 goals twice.
Wisconsin: In the final College Hockey Showcase, Wisconsin tied Michigan 4-4 and beat Michigan State 4-1. Justin Schultz in particular had a great weekend, collecting three goals.
Broc Little and Denny Kearney: The two forwards driving Yale’s ship combined for 2 goals and 4 assists in a 5-1 win over Sacred Heart.
Brown: The Bears tied BU 4-4 and sit in 5th place in ECAC Hockey, and they also have at least 3 games in hand on every team around them, and 4 on first place Yale. They finished 11th, last and tied for last the past three seasons.
Bad Weekend:
Michigan: Tying Wisconsin 4-4 was no disaster, but the Wolverines followed that up with a loss to Minnesota. Regardless of the Gophers being ranked, they are absolutely awful. Michigan has been just so so defensively this year, ranked tied for 18th nationally. Though in the CCHA that is a bit worse than in other conferences.
Boston College (kind of?): The Eagles lost to Merrimack 5-3 on Friday, and despite beating Vermont 6-0 on Saturday they were nearly outshot.
Chay Genoway: The Sioux captain had several bad turnovers and looked generally lost in Saturday’s tie with Notre Dame.
I got a lot of nothin. It was a pretty good weekend for the best teams.
