Vinny Saponari Pushes BU-BC Rivalry Even Higher

Last spring Vinny Saponari got kicked off the BU hockey team for failing to attend his punishment for underaged drinking. After spending some time playing in Dubuque for the USHL’s Fighting Saints, Saponari committed to his new college, which also happens to be Boston College.
He says that he didn’t commit to BC out out spite, but it was pretty clear he might have been motivated by sticking it to Jack Parker.
Saponari had 20 goals and 47 points in 71 career games at BU.
It’s tough to imagine this rivalry getting any more heated, but perhaps Saponari has just gotten it there.
