Two WCHA Players to Miss Time

North Dakota Sophomore Danny Kristo will get a 1 game suspension for violating team rules. Kristo will miss the team’s exhibition opener, tomorrow vs. the University of Manitoba. Although the school would not specify what the suspension is for, numerous people have stated that it is due to underaged drinking.

Alaska-Anchorage’s Kane LaFranchise won’t be so lucky. As the Anchorage Daily News has reported, LaFranchise will be out the first semester due to being academically ineligible. LaFranchise, with 3 goals and 12 assists last year, was the team’s leading scorer from the blueline. He was also probably their best all-around defensemen and one of only 9 upperclassmen on the roster. For a team expected to finish in the bottom 2 in the WCHA once again, this is demoralizing.
