US Captain, Alternates Named

Former Michigan and current LA Kings defenseman Jack Johnson has been named the captain for the 2010 US World Championship team. Johnson had 8 goals and 28 points for the Kings this year, and he had the third most ice time for the United States Olympic team, which won the silver medal in Vancouver.

The alternates are:

Nick Foligno (Sudbury-OHL)

Matt Greene (North Dakota)

Eric Nystrom (Michigan)

Kyle Okposo (Minnesota)

The United States first game is Friday vs. Germany. They are expecting to draw 76,000 fans to the game which would be a world record.
