Americans Blast Finland, Advance To Final

Jack Campbell had his 3rd consecutive shutout for the U-18s as they cruised to a 5-0 win over Finland. They will meet the winner of Sweden-Russia. Future DU Pioneer Nick Shore had 3 points for the Americans, and Jon Merrill had another strong game and, according to TSN, is flying up NHL draft boards. I still think Cam Fowler will be the first defenseman taken, especially after how Erik Gudbranson’s Canadian team has done in the tournament, but Merrill could make it interesting. Another name to watch in that regard is North Dakota recruit Derek Forbort.
